Home - Airplane - Denver
Arrive in Denver by plane. Free airport pick-up at Denver International Airport (DEN) at 17:00 local time. Meet tour guide at Baggage Claim Area 12 of the West Terminal. Transfer to hotel for rest.
Denver City Tour - Boulder
After breakfast, explore Denver's Mile High City. Visit 16th Street Mall, Big Blue Bear sculpture, Colorado State Capitol (exterior), Denver Art Museum (exterior), historic old train station (interior). Drive to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater (30 mins from Denver), featuring the world's only naturally acoustically perfect open-air theater. Afternoon visit to Boulder: Colorado State University Boulder, National Center for Atmospheric Research and Museum, Pearl Street pedestrian mall. Return to Denver. Itinerary: Denver → 16th St Mall (30 mins) → Big Blue Bear (15 mins) → Capitol Building (30 mins) → Art Museum (30 mins) → Old Railway Station (30 mins) → Red Rocks Park (1.5 hours) → Boulder (35 mins) → CU Boulder (1 hour) → NCAR Museum (45 mins) → Pearl Street (1.5 hours) → Denver
Denver - Rocky Mountain Highway - Grand Junction
After breakfast, drive along Highway 70 into the Rocky Mountains. Pass through Vail, a world-famous ski resort town. Afternoon arrival in Grand Junction, the largest city in western Colorado near Utah border. Visit Colorado National Monument (30 mins from Grand Junction). Drive scenic Rim Rock Drive with dramatic red rock formations, unique rock shapes, and red canyons. Itinerary: Denver → Vail (walking tour 2 hours including lunch) → Grand Junction → Colorado National Monument (drive tour + photos, 2.5 hours total)
Grand Junction - Aspen - Maroon Bells - Glenwood Springs
After breakfast, head to Aspen, Colorado's most famous mountain town and world-class ski resort with four major mountains (Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Butter Mountain, Snowmass Mountain). Visit Maroon Bells scenic area (or Dillon Lake tour & hike if Maroon Bells closed until 05/15/2025), the most photographed landscape in the United States. Afternoon arrival in Glenwood Springs, located in Rocky Mountains center. Visit Glenwood Springs Hot Spring, natural thermal springs on the Colorado River surrounded by Rocky Mountains for soaking and relaxation. Itinerary: Grand Junction → Aspen Town (2 hours) → Maroon Bells/Dillon Lake (3 hours or 2 hours) → Glenwood Springs → Hot Spring (1.5 hours)
Glenwood Springs - Black Hawk - Gold - Denver
After breakfast, return along Highway 70 to Black Hawk, a mountain gambling town (3.9 sq km, 2,602m elevation), established during 19th century gold mining boom. Walk through casino town and visit Ameristar Casino. Continue to Gold Town, founded during gold rush, historically important trade center and Colorado capital 1862-1867. Visit Colorado School of Mines, Colorado's first public higher learning institution, world-renowned for engineering and mining research. Exterior visit to Coors Brewery (founded 1873), world's largest single brewery with 22+ million barrels annual output, famous for brewing with mountain snow water. Return to Denver. Itinerary: Glenwood Springs → Black Hawk (casino walk-through 1 hour) → Gold → Colorado School of Mines (25 mins) → Coors Brewery exterior (20 mins) → Denver
Rocky Mountain National Park
After breakfast, proceed to famous Rocky Mountain National Park. The Rocky Mountains span 4,500+ km through North America, serve as main watershed and birthed most North American rivers. From Denver, drive northwest 110 km to Estes Park (east gate). Visit Bear Lake, a mountain lake named by Indians with breathtaking scenery, one of the most famous lakes in the park. Follow scenic Trail Ridge Road (48 miles, traversing park east to west) with dense vegetation, rolling clouds, mountain views. Alpine Visitor Center at Ridge Road's highest point (3,637m altitude) offers Rocky Mountain beauty views. Visit Sheep Lake at mountain foot in open grassland, habitat of Colorado's state animal, bighorn sheep. Full day approximately 9 hours. Special note: If Trail Ridge Road closed by season/weather, alternative itinerary includes Estes Park resort town, Stanley Hotel (prototype for "The Shining" horror movie), Bear Lake, Sheep Lake, and Visitor Center. Itinerary: Denver → Rocky Mountain National Park (Bear Lake, Alpine Visitor Center, Sheep Lake, ~9 hours) → Denver
Colorado Springs - Garden of the Gods - Denver International Airport
After breakfast, head to Colorado Springs, Colorado's second largest city at 1,840m altitude at Pikes Peak's eastern foot, birthplace of "American Sports Festival". Visit famous Garden of the Gods (God's Garden), dotted with most beautiful red sandstones in the United States with 300+ rocks of various shapes, Pikes Peak and blue sky as background. Notable formations include Kissing Camels and Balanced Rock (700 tons). Explore quaint Manitou Springs artist enclave featuring galleries, street performers, creek-side restaurants, boutique stores. Overlook Pikes Peak from Pikes Peak Highway (19 miles scenic mountain terrain, multiple Colorado life zones, 14,000+ ft peak accessible to all ages). Return to Denver International Airport. Itinerary: Denver → Colorado Springs → Garden of the Gods (3 hours) → Manitou Springs (1 hour) → Pikes Peak overlook → Denver International Airport
