Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Pick-up
Arrival at LAX. Free pickup service provided between 10:00 am and 22:00 pm every 2 hours (10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00, 20:00, 22:00). Tour guide in yellow uniform holding yellow flag or iPad. For domestic flights: Baggage Claim → Meet guide → Shuttle bus. For international flights: Immigration → Baggage Claim → Customs → Passenger Exit (at 7-Eleven) → Shuttle bus. Paid 24-hour pickup available at $120 one-way (up to 5 pax). Phoenix city group guests check in at hotel independently (business hotel near airport with breakfast and shuttle bus). Note: Provide flight information at least 3 business days before departure.

Los Angeles - Salvation Mountain - Phoenix
Depart Los Angeles in the morning. Visit Sunnylands (1 hour 30 minutes from LA), an estate begun in 1963 featuring art collection by Picasso, Van Gogh, Andrew Wyeth, and Monet, surrounded by eucalyptus and olive trees. Continue to Shields Date Garden (1 hour travel). Visit Salvation Mountain (30 minutes from Shields), an outsider art masterpiece with religious messages and artistic objects including flowers, trees, waterfalls, bluebirds. Drive 4 hours 30 minutes to Phoenix. Visit Arizona Capitol Museum (outside visit), made from Arizona materials including malapai, granite and copper dome. Overnight in Tempe. Total driving: 255 miles from Salvation Mountain to Phoenix.
Phoenix - Saguaro National Park - Deming
Full day of attractions: Biosphere 2 (2 hours from hotel, 110 miles) - a miniature artificial closed ecosystem constructed over 8 years costing $150 million, now a science museum. Pima Air & Space Museum (1 hour from Biosphere 2, 45 miles) - one of world's largest aerospace museums with nearly 300 aircraft on 80 acres. San Xavier del Bac Mission (20 minutes from museum, 10 miles) - historic Spanish Catholic mission built 1783-1797, oldest European structure in Arizona. Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (30 minutes, 17 miles) - founded 1952, rated top ten zoological parks for interpreting Sonoran Desert. Saguaro National Park (located nearby, 50 minutes total travel) - 368 sq km park divided into east and west sections with mature saguaro cactus forests, established to preserve saguaro forests. Park features desert landscape with mountain cactus forests and pine trees. Overnight in Deming, New Mexico.
White Sands National Park - Carlsbad Caverns National Park - Roswell
After breakfast, drive to White Sands National Park (2 hours from Deming, 130 miles) - desert formed by weathering of white gypsum with massive undulating dunes covering approximately 300 miles, constantly in flux. Wear sunglasses to avoid snow blindness. Continue to Carlsbad Caverns National Park (3 hours 30 minutes, 200 miles) - diverse array of caves creating underground world, designated UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1955, featured in 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' film, home to numerous bat species. Drive to Roswell (1 hour 50 minutes, 100 miles), the world-renowned UFO capital. Overnight in Roswell.
Roswell - Santa Fe - Albuquerque
After breakfast, travel to Santa Fe Plaza (3 hours from Roswell, 200 miles) - National Historic Landmark in downtown Santa Fe in traditional Spanish-American colonial city style. Plaza is center gathering place featuring Spanish, Native American, and Mexican cultures with music, design, jewelry, art and dancing. Home to annual events including Fiestas de Santa Fe, Spanish Market, Santa Fe Bandstand, and Santa Fe Indian Market. Listed on National Register of Historic Places with central park lined with grass, trees, and benches. Afternoon drive to Albuquerque (1 hour, 60 miles), the Hot Air Balloon Capital of the World. Visit Balloon Fiesta Park/Hot Air Balloon Museum (45 minutes) - every October hot air balloon festival held here with unique geographical conditions allowing balloons to circle back. Normally used as museum, golf training, and model airplane flight training ground. Explore history of hot air balloons and enjoy 3D movie. Overnight in Albuquerque.
Albuquerque - Petrified Forest National Park - Sedona
Travel from Albuquerque to Gallup, New Mexico (2 hours 20 minutes, 150 miles) - city founded 1881 as railhead for Atlantic and Pacific Railroad, named after David Gallup paymaster. On Trails of the Ancients Byway, one of designated New Mexico Scenic Byways. Popular location in 1940s-1950s for Hollywood Westerns. Continue to Petrified Forest National Park (2 hours from Gallup) - one of largest and most spectacular concentrations of petrified forests in world, renowned for numerous petrified forests with names Black Forest, Crystal Forest, and Rainbow Forest. Most trees are conifers similar to Araucaria from Triassic period approximately 225 million years ago. Features badlands landscape known as 'Painted Desert' and early Indian ruins. Visit Meteor Crater Natural Landmark (45 minutes from park, 80 miles to Sedona total) - meteorite impact crater about 37 miles east of Flagstaff, 18 miles west of Winslow, privately owned by Barringer family, proclaimed 'best-preserved meteorite crater on Earth', designated National Natural Landmark November 1967. Drive to Sedona (1 hour 30 minutes from Crater, 80 miles). Overnight in Sedona.
Sedona - Route 66 - Las Vegas
After breakfast, explore Sedona (3 hours, optional Sedona Trolley) - one of world's most powerful locations attracting millions annually for breathtaking red rock formations. Mysterious place believed to possess supernatural spirituality, ancient sacred site revered by Native Americans. Legend says unique structure creates mysterious energy focus; stepping on red rocks can invigorate and transform life. Visit Chapel of the Holy Cross - Roman Catholic chapel built into buttes of Sedona with 90 ft tall iron cross on southwestern wall serving aesthetic and structural purposes. Afternoon travel along Route 66 (4 hours 40 minutes from Sedona, 300 miles) - U.S. Route 66 also known as Will Rogers Highway, Main Street of America, Mother Road. Established November 11, 1926, originally ran from Chicago through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona terminating in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, covering 2,448 miles total. Famous from hit song 'Get Your Kicks on Route 66' and CBS television series (1960-1964). Symbolized escape and loss in John Steinbeck's 'The Grapes of Wrath' (1939). Pass Hoover Dam en route to Las Vegas. Overnight in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas - Death Valley National Park - Los Angeles
Drive from Las Vegas to Death Valley National Park (2 hours, 120 miles). Explore Death Valley - hottest and driest region in North America, lowest point on North American continent, largest national park in mainland. Unique geology with sand dunes, sandstone, colorful rocks, volcanic craters, salt lakes offering breathtaking experience. Witness undulating mountains, multicolored rocks, intertwining layers of color with breathtaking scenery of peaks and ravines. Drive back to Los Angeles (3 hours 30 minutes, 240 miles).
