New York - Watkins Glen State Park - Niagara Falls
Depart early morning from New York heading north to Watkins Glen State Park in the Finger Lakes region. Watkins Glen features stratified rock geology with more than a dozen waterfalls along a two-mile canyon trail, known as the "Millennium Valley". If the park is closed, visit the Corning Museum of Glass instead. Drive to Niagara Falls for a mandatory night tour (90 mins). Experience the three major waterfalls - Horseshoe Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and American Falls - illuminated with colorful neon lights. Fireworks show guaranteed (except when unavailable). Visit One Park, Two Islands, Three Falls area.
Niagara Falls - Toronto
Morning at Niagara Falls (Canada side): Visit IMAX: Niagara or choose between Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour and Journey Behind the Falls. Visit Skylon Tower Observation Deck with included lunch (120 mins) - enjoy 360-degree revolving restaurant or buffet dining. Afternoon: Drive to Toronto. Choose from Toronto Sightseeing Harbour Tour (60 mins), CN Tower (60 mins), or Ripley's Aquarium of Canada (60 mins). Optional: Casa Loma Royal Castle. Evening: Optional dinner in Toronto Chinatown. Special note: September-October visitors may visit Ontario Legislative Assembly Building for maple viewing.
Toronto - Thousand Islands - Ottawa - Montreal
Depart Toronto for Thousand Islands along the St. Lawrence River between Canada and US. Optional Thousand Islands Cruise (60 mins) to appreciate 1,864+ islands and historical sites. Continue to Ottawa, Canada's capital. Visit Parliament Hill (outside visit, 20 mins) - symbol of Canada featuring maple leaf flag and Gothic buildings. Drive north to Montreal. Mandatory Double Decker Montreal tour (60 mins) featuring Notre-Dame Basilica and diverse cultural landmarks. Visit Montréal City Hall (outside, 20 mins) - 1878 French Second Empire architecture. Explore Old Montreal (90 mins) on the north bank of St. Lawrence River - oldest neighborhood with strong European flavor, churches, and historic stone houses. Optional: French meal in Montreal (60 mins).
Montreal - Quebec City
Drive to Quebec City, the only city in North America with fortress walls. Optional: Quebec French Style Lunch (75 mins). Optional: Old Quebec City Tour (60 mins) including Place d'Armes, Chateau Frontenac Hotel (outside visit), Parliament Building (outside visit), and Notre-Dame Basilica. Explore Little Champlain Street (60 mins) - narrow streets with shops and cafes. Optional: Montmorency Falls & Cable Car (60 mins) - known as Crystal Falls with 83-meter drop (1.5 times higher than Niagara Falls). Note: Montmorency Falls & Cable Car closed 11/18/2025-12/25/2025 and 01/05/2026-01/30/2026.
Ausable Chasm - New York
Return to the US. Visit Ausable Chasm (optional, 60 mins), the Grand Canyon of the Eastern United States - a picturesque landscape shaped over 5 billion years ago by wind, water, and sedimentation. Walk along the canyon floor paved with natural stone, weaving between the cliffs. Drive back to New York (300 miles, 6 hours).
