Begin your amazing and unforgettable journey by taking a plane to Tokyo, Japan.
Tokyo
Arrive in Tokyo. Tour guide will meet you at the airport. Free airport pick-up times: Narita (NRT) at 13:00, 16:00, 19:00, 22:00; Haneda (HND) at 14:00, 17:00, 20:00. Check in at hotel to rest.
Tokyo Free Day
Full day to freely arrange your own schedule. Recommended options: Line A - Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea (ticket at own expense, approx. 6 hours); Line B - Odaiba with Seaside Park, Venus Center, Shopping Plaza (90 mins free time, dinner at own expense); Line C - Harajuku and Shibuya for trendy shopping and street culture, or Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore (world's most beautiful bookstore). Optional: Tokyo Night Tour (Yakatabune Japanese hot pot & performance, Kanda Shrine, Tokyo Tower) at own expense.
Tokyo - Yokohama - Kamakura - Tokyo
After breakfast, depart to Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 (30 mins), a modern seaside city with huge Ferris wheel and views of Mount Fuji. Visit Yokohama Chinatown (60 mins, including lunch), the largest in Japan and Asia with unique Chinese architecture and restaurants. Afternoon: drive to Kamakura Komachi Dori Shopping Street (45 mins) to purchase souvenirs. Visit Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine (45 mins), one of Japan's three major Hachiman shrines. See the Great Buddha of Kamakura at Kotoku-in Temple (45 mins, ticket included), an 11.3-meter bronze Amida Buddha statue. Return to Tokyo.
Tokyo In-depth One Day Tour
Full day Tokyo exploration after breakfast. Visit Sensoji Temple (30 mins) and Nakamise-dori Street (30 mins, glimpse Tokyo Skytree), Japan's oldest shopping street. View Nijubashi Bridge (40 mins), the main bridge to the Imperial Palace and symbol of Japan. Explore Ginza (60 mins) for upscale shopping and dining. Visit Odaiba (45 mins) for ocean views, DiverCity Shopping Plaza, and 1:1 Gundam statue. Explore Shibuya (30 mins) and photograph Hachiko Memorial Statue (20 mins). Experience Shinjuku Kabukicho (30 mins), the sleepless city's famous nightlife district. Optional: Tokyo Night Tour (at own expense) featuring Yakatabune Japanese hot pot dinner and performance, Kanda Shrine night view, and Tokyo Tower observation deck. Tokyo - Mount Fuji - Hamanako Hot Spring Resort
After breakfast, drive to Arakurayama Sengen Park (30 mins) for spectacular Mount Fuji views overlooking Fujiyoshida City. Pass by popular Hikawa Clock Shop & Kanadorii (20 mins). Afternoon: visit Lake Kawaguchiko (30 mins), the famous Mount Fuji viewing spot. Drive to Mount Fuji 5th Station (40 mins), Japan's highest peak and one of largest active volcanoes. Note: if weather prevents 5th Station access, visit Oshino Hakkai instead (8 ponds with clear spring water filtered through lava for 80+ years). Evening: check in to Hamanako Hot Spring Resort with arranged lake view rooms.
Hamanako Hot Spring Resort - Kyoto
Depart for Kyoto. Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine & Senbon Torii (40 mins), famous for thousands of vermilion torii gates and fox statues (alternate Oct 22-Nov 20: Arashiyama Togetsukyo Bridge for autumn colors). Explore Kiyomizudera Temple (30 mins, ticket included) with its suspended wooden stage 13 meters above hillside, offering views of cherry/maple trees and Kyoto city. Stroll Sannenzaka & Ninenzaka (20 mins), iconic stone-paved streets leading to temple with traditional buildings and shops. Visit beautiful Gion and Hanamikoji Dori (30 mins) with traditional machiya merchant houses. See Yasaka Shrine (15 mins) with its main dance stage and lanterns. Note: March 19 to April 24 includes Kyoto Gyoen National Garden (30 mins, cherry blossom season weather dependent).
Kyoto - Nara - Osaka
After breakfast, drive to Nara, ancient city with thousands of years history. Play with hundreds of freely roaming deer in Nara Park (40 mins). Visit Todaiji Temple (30 mins, no access to Great Buddha Hall), home to world's largest wooden building (Daibutsuden), originally twice the current size. Afternoon: drive to Osaka. Explore Osaka Castle Park (60 mins, outside visit only) featuring castle with green tiles and white walls, standing since 1583, surrounded by secondary citadels and impressive stone walls; park covers 2 square kilometers with green space and is major hanami spot in early April. Shop at Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street & Dotonbori (120 mins), Osaka's busiest commercial districts with ramen, octopus roast, teppanyaki, revolving sushi, puffer fish and other specialties; famous landmarks include "Osaka King General" and "Crab Road Music"; evening neon lights create excitement.
Osaka - Kobe - Osaka
Tour Kobe after breakfast. Visit Kitano Ijinkan Street (90 mins), district with Western-style buildings from 19th century foreign settlement, featuring boutiques, coffee shops, bistros and flower shops with elegance. Spend leisurely afternoon at Kobe Port (30 mins) for photos. Explore Arima Hot Spring Street (90 mins), one of Japan's oldest hot springs with ancient hotels, souvenir shops, and shrines/temples full of ancient flavors; optional foot bath experience at own expense (Jinnotang: 650 yen adults, 340 yen students; Ginsen: 550 yen adults, 290 yen students). Experience Mount Rokko Night View (60 mins), known as "Japan's Three Great Night Views"; optional cable car ride at own expense (590 yen one-way adults, 1,000 yen round-trip). Observation deck at 737.5 meters offers panoramic night view of Kobe Port, Osaka Plain, and Wakayama coastline in good weather; free admission. Osaka - Airplane - Home
End of tour. Book suitable flight to leave Osaka Kansai International Airport (KIX) as desired. Hotel drop-off service provided at 8:00 AM. Guests with early flights before 8:00 AM can request taxi assistance from tour guide.
