The Valley of the Kings is an ancient Egyptian site located on the west bank of the Nile River, across from Luxor, where pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (1539-1075 BC) were buried. It's known for its rock-cut tombs, many of which are richly decorated with scenes from Egyptian mythology and daily life. Then we continue our journey to Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. A magnificent temple at Deir al-Bahari, on the west back of Luxor. Why is the Temple of Hatshepsut important? In addition to being an engineering marvel, the Temple of Hatshepsut is important because it offers insight into her rule. Hatshepsut, the most famous female pharaoh in ancient Egyptian history was largely written out of
history, but the stories told on the colonnades in the temple shed a lot of light on the two decades of her reign.

Today, it is a popular tourist destination offering panoramic views of Cairo. Later, we will head to the Khalili Bazaar.
